When you are choosing a
submersible pond pump
make sure you get a pump that is rated for continuous duty and get a pump which is capable of turning over the full volume of the pond at least once an hour whenever possible.
There are various types of pond filtration systems available which can be purchased ready to go for any size of pond you are planning to build. There are a couple of different basic types of filters, whether you want to go with a biofalls or a veggie filter of your own design or buy custom filtration systems we can help you find the proper pumps, bioballs, biological media or whole filtration systems where you can choose
Biological Filter Systems, Submersable filter systems are for the most part for building smaller ponds and water gardens.
Skimmers are a fairly costly part of setting up a pond but in most cases worth the investment. If you have not got a skimmer the surface of the water becomes very hard to see through.
Pond plants are expensive and plants purchased from local department store chains may not all be hardy enough to survive in your local area. When I was building my pond I collected a ton of plants from local lakes and ponds where I know they have the ability to withstand local weather extremes. There is a large selection of readily available pond building components in most rural areas, if you take the time to go exploring.
For floating plants I was able to find watercress which makes an excellent filtration plant in your waterfall. In addition the fish love to snack on it too if you place some in the main pond. (Not to mention you can take some in the kitchen for salads)
If your water level goes down don't assume a leak, you will lose water due to normal evaporation and from water usage by your plants.
